Occlusion: the dynamic relationship between teeth as the mandible undergoes functional movement

A -B:
- centric relation
- the condyle is as most superior and anterior as it can be in the glenoid fossa
When you go further down then the confylar head can’t go further, then you get a ” bump” as the condyle goes down the articular eminence
B- E:
- extended opening , translational movement within the synovial cavity
A: First point that teeth touch G: maximum intercuspation A-G: Slide in centric G-R: freeway space
G-F: edge to edge incisal contact
E: Maximum opening
F: Maximum protrustion
