OMFR – Diagnostic Imaging Part 2 is an advanced module designed to build upon the foundational principles established in Diagnostic Imaging Part 1. The course focuses on the radiographic interpretation of abnormalities and pathologies affecting the oral and maxillofacial region, with emphasis on conditions that frequently require advanced imaging modalities for comprehensive evaluation and diagnosis.
The module consists of six lectures, all of which are delivered online. Pre-recorded lectures are available within the designated lecture folders.
There will be an end-of-semester (EOS) examination (scenario-based short answer exam).
Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:
- Recognise and describe abnormalities and pathologies of the maxillofacial region on imaging.
- Develop appropriate differential diagnoses based on radiographic findings.
- Understand the indications for advanced imaging modalities in oral and maxillofacial radiology.
