You find the smallest retraction cord that fits and put it in first
- the smallest one i.e. 0 or 00
- you want to make sure it clears the margins of the crown
- you want the impression material to go into the gingival sulcus
Then you find a second larger retraction cord
- you leave it there for about 5 mintuess or so
- then yo utake it out and it should be bigger
*make sure the retraction cord and gingiva isn’t flopping over the margins! *
