- Using the resin was insanely hard, it would either be too runny or dry up too fast
Important tips for next time
- Make sure to use the markings on the post drills instead of the stupid rubber stopper
- For anti-rotational features, you just have to be like 3-4mm down from the occlusal to the pulp chamber, no need to overcomplicate tings and drill out a massive chunk if the actual post space
- when adding the initial bead of resin to get that post space impressions, just measure out the 3 mm of empty room to leave before the bead with a probe, without loupes you tend to overestimate and leave wayy too much room
- Ensuring correct length :
- after post space impression be completely sure that you got the right length by measuring the post from your calculated reference point
- Making sure the post has enough room
-
- feel the post space and see if it catches anywhere
- when creating the post-space impression use lots of vaseline and make sure to add and continue re-adding whenever you take it out. Otherwise it gets stuck, which could accidentally decrease your height and other things.
-
It was a tough session today but should be completely manageable if you try again
Session 2: Using the resin was a lot easier this time, just make sure that its all barely saturated.
-
initial placement : 3-4 mm from apex
-
Amount: put a sizeable chunk all along the post, this is less likely to get voids and can fill the post-space way quicker
-
the crown was okay but the putty key was mangled so it was impossible to tell and caused lots of issues
Filling Voids
- if you see a void in the post space, you can just wet the brush and use the probe to fill that probe
